Amanda Lee

Amanda trained at Seymours and qualified as a Solicitor in 2010. She is dual-qualified as a Solicitor-Advocate, with rights of audience in civil proceedings in the Higher Courts, and a New York Attorney. She is admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States of America. She sits as an arbitrator and has served as sole arbitrator on more than 25 occasions.

Amanda studied law at Aberystwyth University and graduated with a first class honours degree. She completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, for which she obtained a distinction. She holds a Certificate in International Commercial Contract Law from Pace University, New York.

Amanda is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. She became the first female Global Chair of the Institute’s Young Members’ Group in February 2017 and led the Young Members’ Group Global Steering Committee from 2017 to 2018. She was a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators’ Board of Management from 2017 to 2018. She is a member of the Institute’s Equality and Diversity Focus Group. She served as Public Relations Officer of the London Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (2015-2018) and was a member of its committee from 2015 to 2019. She served as Co-Chair of the Institute’s London and South East Young Members’ Group from 2016 to 2018.

Amanda is a Director of ArbitralWomen and in her capacity as Young ArbitralWomen Practitioners (YAWP) Director serves on the Steering Committee of YAWP. Amanda is a Visiting Lecturer at The University of Law and the Chair of the Regulatory Register Committee of the Professional Paralegal Register. Amanda is the founder of Careers in Arbitration, an initiative working to make the process of securing a role in the field of international arbitration more transparent and to ensure that the best candidates, wherever they are based, have access to the resources required to take advantage of available opportunities.

She is a member of the ABA International Law Section International Arbitration Committee and serves as a Director of ArbitralWomen. She is proud to act as a Professional Ambassador for Aspiring Solicitors, an organization aiming to increase diversity in the legal profession, and to participate in Mentorship Schemes for the University of Law, Queen Mary University of London and the University of Westminster. She serves as an Ambassador for the Alliance for Equality in Dispute Resolution.
